SYNOPSIS
‘Dal Ja’s Spring’ is the story of Oh Dal Ja, a 33-year old single at a crossroad of whether to remain single or get married before she gets older. The drama aims to comically and candidly portray the reality and undying pursuit of romance of a thirty something single woman. The drama also highlights the life and work of women in their thirties through Dal Ja who is a talented managing director at a home shopping channel.
Who’s the one Dal Ja?
Although successful in career, Dal Ja was never successful in her love life. She once fell in love with a colleague, Shin Se Do, and then later was heart broken. Se Do was snatched away by Wee Seon Joo, a home shopping show host with a brilliant sense in dating. Now Dal Ja is in the brink of losing hope of finding her one true love at the age of 33!
Aren’t they’re cute?
Wanting to save her face in the eyes of Shin Se Do (her ex), and Wee Seon Ju, Dal Ja hired the service of a freelance substitute date, Kang Tae Bong (six years younger than her) to act her fake boyfriend. Unknown to her, Tae Bong develops feelings for her. Dal Ja is oblivious because her eyes are locked to another man, Yeom Ki Joong. Ki Joong is the type who dreams of an ideal and rational courtship. The love triangle of Dal Ja, Tae Bong and Ki Joong brews conflicts over love versus marriage.
MY REVIEWS
Dal Ja Spring is another funny and warm drama from KBS. The drama portrays the life of a single, working woman in her thirties, as well as her issues regarding love and marriage. The nice thing about this series is that it did not only tackle issues on love, but also the characters’ struggle on keeping the relationship with friends and family. Chae Rim was so adorable in this series! I like her new hairdo, black painted nails and fashionable outfits. She’s way much pretty in this drama than during her “All About Eve” and “Dating Now” days. She definitely portrayed the role of Oh Dal Ja well, though she’s years younger than the actual character. Lee Min Ki portrayed the free-spirited Kang Tae Bong. I last saw him in “I Really Like You”, opposite Eugene. At first I found him okay, but as I further watched the series, he got handsomer each time.
SOUNDTRACK
The series has a nice OST. If you’ll buy the original one, you will not be disappointed. It is consist of 16 tracks. My favorites are Gi Juk Gat Eun Sarang (Miraculous Love), Nae Son Eul Jab Ah Jwuh, To You Mine and Sweet Lover. In the Philippines, the opening theme is the song Cool Ka lang (Just Be Cool), originally sung by the 90’s girl band Prettier than Pink, now Danita has her own version.

The cartoon version of the cast.
I really enjoyed watching this series. Though, it caters on more mature audiences. Nevertheless, anyone can relate to the story. In the Philippines, it will be aired by GMA Network, starting June 2008, replacing the time slot of “The Legend”. I already watched on DVD last year, but I will still be watching it again, now dubbed in Filipino.
I’m gonna watch it again!
