The GMA 7 Kapuso network is set to remake the highly popular K-drama, and will be aired on November of this year. The drama’s original characters of Lee Young Jae/Justin Lee and Han Ji Eun (Jessie Han) were acted by pop star Rain and Song Hye Kyo. The remake will star the matinee idol Richard Gutierrez, as Justin Lee. The network has no announcement yet on who will take the role of Jessie Han, but rumor has it that it’s between Marian Rivera and Jennylyn Mercado.

Full House was a huge success when it was shown in the Philippines in 2006. Until now, it holds the record for the highest rating Korean drama in the Philippines (average 42.3%, and peak is 50.5%- source AGB Nielsen Phil.). The phenomenal success of the drama is probably due to its light and fresh romance-comedy factor, which is something new for viewers.

I am not totally against in making a Philippine remake of any Korean drama. I just hope that they make the remake at par or better than the original. I don’t want the Full House remake to suffer the same disaster fate of My Name Is Kim Soon remake. Anyway, I’ll definitely watch it!

Hi, there…am also a fan of Asian particularly, Korean drama series. My fave Asian dramas are Coffee Prince, Stairway to Heaven, Winter Sonata, Spring Waltz, Star’s Lover, Lovers in Paris, Meteor Garden 1, Stained Glass, Full House, Boys Over Flowers, Princess Hours, Lovers, My Girl, Hana Kimi, It Started with A Kiss, A Love Tree and now am currently fond watching Cruel Love/Bad Love being aired in GMA7 after Adik Sa YO.
I’m quite satisfied with the Remake of My Girl featured by ABS…i love the acting of Kim Chui there. But entirely, dissapointed with the remake of Kim Sam Soon and the other one with a title “Eve” on it.
Just hope GMA 7 will redeem its glory once it aired the Phil remake of Stairway to Heaven and Full House. So far, am satisfied with the male cast Dingdong and Richard Gutierrez respectively.
Hope, you’ll continue sharing your article/reviews about your fave Asan/Korean dramas…coz, i like your thoughts about it. By the way, the lead female star of Coffee Prince will have her new drama series entitled My Fair Lady…it will be aired in Korea this August 2009. Hope to here from you soon. . Regards.
I love watching Korean movies and teledramas although I have to depend on English subtitles because am not Korean. I love the teledrama of the 4 seasons – Summer Scent, Winter Sonata, Spring Waltz and Autumn in My Heart. Other faves are Stairway To Heaven, Sad Love Story, All In, Full House, Bad Love, East of Eden The World That They Live In , Hotelier – in short all the works of Song Seung Hoon, Bae Yong Joon, Kwon Sang Woo, Choi Ji Woo, Song Hye Kyo, Hyun Bin. I also watched My Girl (Korean) and the Philippine version. I watched Korean Only You but did not watch Philippine version. Am just wondering why Phil showbiz can’t be original and produce teledramas like the Koreans whose stories, dialogue and cinematography is terrific. ABS-CBN produced Pangako Sa ‘Yo and Sana Wala Nang Wakas which were big hits not only in the Phils but also in other Asian countries. Proof of this are comments from Malaysian and Singaporean fans in the stars’ MBs. Bottom line is I wish the Philippines can produce writers who can be original and creative in their writing.

Author of this forum i think you got the wrong info who will gonna play the role of jessie, its not marian nor jennelyn, rumors said that HEART EVANGELISTA or SHEENA HALILI will gonna play the role of Jessie, and you think the remake of My Name Is Kim Sam Soon is a disaster?? Your wrong! I watch this remake and its quitly very good it makes u laugh just like the original!.. By the way Sam s0on remake is better than My Girl of Abscbn and do you think Kim Chui is a good actress?? She seems to be over acting gosh cant you see.. Well anyways just respect my opinion!
Yep ADMINO, I respect your opinion… and I think the remake of MNKSS is a disaster, and I hope you respect my opinion too. I just got the info about the reamake of FH from various showbiz resources in the net. Personally, I don’t care anymore who’s gonna play the role of Jessie, as long as the actress will give justice to it, whether marian, jennylyn, heart or sheena. PEACE!
